Corporate real estate sentiment is shifting toward office space expansion, with 38% of executives expecting to expand their portfolios in the next three years, up from 20% a year ago, according to a recent CBRE report. The share of tenants anticipating downsizing has dropped to 37%, the lowest since 2021. Office vacancy rates in the U.S. are projected to peak at 19.8% by mid-2025.

Los Angeles has agreed to pay $38.2 million to settle allegations that it failed to comply with federal accessibility requirements in its use of Housing and Urban Development funds for multifamily affordable housing, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The agreement resolves a 2017 whistleblower lawsuit claiming the city did not follow federal accessibility laws for over a decade, though the Justice Department noted there has been no determination of liability.
