A 450-acre equestrian ranch less than an hour outside of Boise, Idaho, lays claim to a mile of frontage on the lower Boise River. Known as the Parma Lodge and Stables and now available for $22.5 million, the estate’s 9,000-square-foot residence, which overlooks a chain of small, interconnected lakes, is complemented by a massive, 18-stall barn reminiscent of a Kentucky horse farm. There’s also a substantial caretaker’s residence, along with 320 acres of pastures and arable croplands. And, on the outskirts of Los Angeles’s vast San Fernando Valley, a modernized midcentury home originally built for a banking heiress has returned to the market for $8 million. The Chatsworth spread was famously rented for about a decade in the late 1950s and '60s by Frank Sinatra, who, so the story goes, lent the guesthouse to JFK and Marilyn Monroe for a clandestine tryst.
