Tracking the robust recovery in the US business sector since 2020

Despite fears of widespread business failure in the COVID era, the sector has bounced back and grown. New research from the Hamilton Project finds that roughly 70% of pandemic-affected businesses that shut down in early 2020 were able to reopen by the first quarter of 2021. And from the third quarter of 2020 through the end of 2021, nearly 2 million new businesses were created.
