| A safe return to school As the COVID-19 situation evolves and many Ontario students prepare for either a full or part-time return to school, these resources provide helpful information for a healthy transition: The Ontario government has published an online guide to reopening Ontario schools and operational guidance on what will happen if there is a coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak at school. Anxiety Canada offers a 12-step back-to-school checklist for parents. Togetherall is an online service providing free access to students and parents with anxiety, depression and other common mental health issues. |
| | | Addressing anti-Black racism Further to its commitment to anti-oppression, equity and inclusion, the College has appointed Karen Murray, OCT, to lead the development of a new Additional Qualification course guideline to address anti-Black racism. Murray is the Centrally Assigned Principal for Equity, Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression at the Toronto District School Board. She will help to provide the tools to enable teachers to become comfortable in engaging in anti-Black racism pedagogy. |

| Advice on student mental health The College regularly publishes professional advisories that provide advice to teachers on a number of topics such as bullying, and safety in learning environments. The September issue of Professionally Speaking shows how teachers are applying advice from the College's advisory on supporting students' mental health. |
