Hello, John!
The beatification of Solanus Casey was five years ago this fall, but the Capuchin Franciscan who worked wonders out of a monastery in Detroit remains a fascinating figure.
Solanus was one of the Church's most gentle and unassuming souls, living in Detroit during the time when it exploded into a booming hub of industry. Even among the humble Franciscan brotherhood, he was assigned the low-level task of porter. His life is proof that God works in unexpected ways.
Twenty years ago, we published a book chronicling the life of Solanus Casey, written by a man who knew him personally. This year, we've given that book an updated look and a new foreword, to introduce this fascinating future saint to a new generation of faithful readers.
