BROUGHT TO YOU BY INDIE SHOPOGRAPHY

Earlier this week I wrote a blog post for Being Boss regarding setting goals for your business. It made me realize that it's time for me to revisit my own goals.

But, before I dive in I'll tell you some truth:

I've never had a business plan.

Not a stuffy, "real" one. In over a decade of being a business owner, in starting, selling, and growing businesses, I have never sat down and wrote out a 30+ page document outlining my competition, my income projections, and my mission.

Because that's not my style.

I find those docs bland, tiresome, and not inspiring in the least. Instead of spending a month wrestling with Word, I'd rather use that time taking action.

And a doc like that would never stand the test of time in a business ran by a whiley creative who loves that she can change directions at any moment.

But that doesn't mean I don't have a path - because I do. Every year, every quarter, shit - every day, I focus on a few key goals that help drive my business forward.

Instead, I say "screw competition." Instead of putting my mission in WordArt, I plaster it to my desktop background. Instead of making income projections, I know my actual numbers and set some intentions to knock it out of the park.

And then I get to work and make it do.

Can I get an "amen" from all you whiley creatives who feel me?

In writing my blog post this week about how I set those goals, I figured it was time for me to revisit my own goals. And, I figured that I would share them, too:

Q1: How do you want to feel?

I want to feel fulfilled. Joyful. If it's not a hell yes, then it's a hell no, so I'm always totally in love with what I am doing. And it starts now.

Q2: How much money do you want to make?

Because I have a David that works through our financials, I had to ask him. He tells me we need to bring in at least $50k in the last two quarters of the year. That feels doable.

But also scary. Since I'm not taking any more one-on-one clients (which is how I've made $$ for over 6 years), this means it's time for me to buckle down with digital products. Eee!

PS - If you're a web designer, get in the funnel. I have something really awesome coming your way.

Q3: How many hours do you want to work?

25 hours a week. Right now I'm working 30-35. By the end of summer, I want to be working only 25 hours a week.

Q4: Where will you seek help first?

From David. While I hustle out my upcoming product for web designers, I've already asked David to step up with cooking dinner. Because I can't think about dinner and email funnels and do both of them great. Starting immediately.
