Utilities and EPCs are struggling to find the equipment they need to run the grid due to a supply chain crisis that began because of the Covid-19 pandemic. While utilities are making do by helping each other, the newly minted CEO of Doble Engineering says there’s another potential solution. Data. He believes that utilities who have access to accurate data on transformer health are better positioned to plan for future asset management issues, and he's on a mission to give it to them.

The researchers said they demonstrated that renewable and nuclear energy, combined within a hybrid system, can complement each other to support the grid.
