Lord God, we praise and bless You. We ask that You give each one of us, those of us who are listening and those that are not—people all over the world and in every nation—a sense of the necessity of unity, first with You, Lord Father, and then with each other. We ask that Mary, Our Mother, be with us. Her soul, so pure, so holy, the soul that always said yes to God, had a unity beyond compare. Give us that grace. Amen.
- A Holy Hour with Mother Angelica
Dear John,
Mother Angelica, the foundress of EWTN, once said, “I live because of the Eucharist.”
Jesus was the center of her life, which is evident in the new book A Holy Hour with Mother Angelica. This book includes her inspirational reflections—compiled for the first time—that will draw you closer to Jesus. With Scripture passages and Mother’s prayers and meditations, each brief chapter will strengthen your faith in Our Lord.
In chapter 25, Mother Angelica says,
We look for honor. We look for glory. We look for pleasure. We look for good food. We look for good places to go for our recreation. But do we look for Jesus? Do we seek Him? The Lord said, “Ask. Seek. Knock.” So, there is a kind of persistence required in our quest for God.
Most of us are like wildflowers, I think. We just kind of grow. We expect the rain and the sun and the storms. We expect life, we expect death, and that’s about it. But do we seek the Lord? You say, “Well, the Lord knows where I am. He knows what’s going on in my life. So why should I seek Him?” You must seek Him!
In this book, Mother Angelica teaches about: God’s Compassion Being a disciple of Jesus Resisting temptation Abandoning ourselves to God’s Will Following Mary’s example And much more!We believe that this book—filled with Mother Angelica’s gentle insights and holy wisdom—will help you to grow closer to Jesus.
This is why we have a special offer for you today. For those who make a gift of $100 or more, we will send you a copy of A Holy Hour with Mother Angelica, along with two additional books, A Biblical Way of Praying the Mass and ABC: Get to Know the Saints with Me.
In A Biblical Way of Praying the Mass, Fr. Timothy Gallagher teaches a special way of praying the Mass, which involves meditating on different people from the Bible. For example, as you enter the church before Mass, you might think of Simeon who waited many years before he could see the Baby Jesus. As you meditate on Simeon’s patience and his love for the Lord, you can enter your parish with great anticipation and excitement to see Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
In the book ABC: Get to Know the Saints with Me, Caroline Perkins introduces children to our heavenly friends while also teaching the alphabet. With vibrant illustrations, this book is a great way to help kids learn to love the saints.
If you give $100 or more, we will be happy to send you A Holy Hour with Mother Angelica, A Biblical Way of Praying the Mass, and ABC: Get to Know the Saints with Me. If you would like to receive only A Holy Hour with Mother Angelica, we will send it to you for a donation of $35 or more. You can enjoy the books this summer—or share them with a friend or family member who needs spiritual enrichment. You can make your donation and receive your offer here.
If you have already taken advantage of this offer and made your donation, you have our prayerful thanks, and know that your books are on their way.
When you make this donation to EWTN, you are proclaiming the Gospel to all the nations. Your gift directly impacts the mission that Mother Angelica started almost forty years ago.
Mother Angelica once said, “Remember: what you see and what you read can make you what you are.” When you read inspirational Catholic books—like these—you will become more like Jesus, and you will reflect His Light to the world.
May God bless you, and may these books help you grow closer to Our Lord.
Sincerely in Christ,
Your EWTN Family
