Stock Gumshoe

July 2, 2016

Greetings, Gumshoe readers!
It's that time of year again, and I'm asking for your help in the fight against cancer.

Each year I try to do some fundraising for causes that are important to me, and this time, for the second year in a row, I will be riding the Pan-Mass Challenge, 192 miles by bicycle from old Sturbridge Village to the tip of Cape Cod in order to help raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber.

Last year, Gumshoe readers were extraordinarily generous in supporting this worthy cause, and I want to thank you, again, for that generosity... and ask if you'll consider repeating it in 2016.  100% of donations go directly to the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

I ride for many friends and family who are cancer survivors, and in memory of my father, Tom Johnson, who passed away 22 years ago after a short battle with colon cancer.  Today, thanks to the advances made by cancer researchers at Dana-Farber and all over the world, you and I and our loved ones will have a better fighting chance against almost all kinds of cancer than my dad did.

I hope that progress continues, and I want to do my part -- please help me by donating to my ride today... I'm in training now, with my hips and knees feeling much older than they did even a year ago, and your support and donations provide great motivation to push it a little harder each day.

We ride on August 6 and 7, and I hope you'll be with me.  Thank you!

Sincerely,

Travis Johnson
