The St. Paul DFLer has made headlines after he was found using a Wisconsin driver's license during a recent traffic stop despite being an elected official and voter in Minnesota.
Thompson has repeatedly identified himself as a longtime resident of St. Paul, but it turned out that he has maintained his Wisconsin license for years, renewing it in 2005, 2012 and 2020, even though the Minnesota Constitution requires lawmakers to live within their districts.

For northern Minnesota, extensive smoke plumes from Canadian wildfires continue to blanket much of the area with an air quality alert in effect until Friday morning.
