A brand new musical has just landed at The Old Vic, and it's shining a spotlight on one of the most fascinating rebels in British history: Sylvia Pankhurst. Penned by ZooNation director Kate Prince, Sylvia puts a unique spin on the tale of a feminist, socialist, pacifist, and activist at the heart of the Suffragette movement.
With original music by Josh Cohen and DJ Walde, Sylvia blends dance, hip hop, funk, and soul, as it reveals how our eponymous heroine helped transform the lives of working men and women for the better. It boasts an incredible cast, with Hamilton alum Sharon Rose starring as Sylvia and the inimitable Beverley Knight playing Sylvia's trailblazing mother Emmeline, a key organiser in the British suffrage movement.
