Rough night: Feeling a little sleepy this morning? Maybe because of the line of intense storms that rolled over us overnight kept you up? Power is coming back to most folks, but some bad news: More bad weather could be on the way tonight and Saturday morning. Ugh.
A record for the coast: The Legislature has approved the state’s coastal protection and restoration plan for 2025, as well as a record $1.7 billion to help fund it. But Mike Smith tells us why the race is on to find funding sources for later years.
Commanding: Louisiana will become the first state to require that the Ten Commandments be posted in public school classrooms. Religion aside, the commandments have historical significance, one senator told his colleagues.
Nyx out: The City Council booted the Krewe of Nyx from the city’s parade schedule for next Carnival. Carnival historian Arthur Hardy tells reporter Doug MacCash that Thursday’s ouster might have been a first.
