Join us for a full-fledged reunion of A Prairie Home Companion. It’s been over two years since the full cast has been onstage together, so it’s time to reunite and celebrate our show and create some new memories! Red Rocks is one of the Seven Wonders of Colorado. Actually, it was once listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the World! Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains just west of Denver, it’s a natural amphitheater where every rock star wants to perform. So why not stage A Prairie Home Companion’s American Revival from the Red Rocks stage? Garrison Keillor will be joined by The Royal Academy of Radio Actors, featuring Sue Scott, Tim Russell, and Fred Newman — plus the Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band, led by Richard Dworsky performing with Pat Donohue, Stuart Duncan, and Gary Raynor. And special guest performers include country superstar Brad Paisley, Southern bluesman Elvin Bishop and his Big Fun Trio, opera star Ellie Dehn, and vocalist Heather Masse.

What macaroni and cheese mean to me Men my age are not riding high these days compared to back in the Renaissance or the 19 th century so I am taking a back seat and not getting fussed up. I appreciate new stuff like YouTube and the Unsubscribe option and the peanut butter latte, but I don’t know who famous people are anymore — Abe Lincoln, Al Kaline, A.J. Liebling are on my A-list but I wouldn’t know Adele if she walked up and offered me her autograph. I’m out of it. So I keep my mouth shut. I’ve listened to people discussing their loyalty to particular coffees from specific regions of Kenya or Nicaragua and I don’t weigh in on this. I’d be okay with Maxwell House Instant. Coffee is coffee. Debating it is like arguing about doormats. You walk in, you wipe your feet, it’s not a transformative experience. I feel the same way about gender: it’s your beeswax, not mine. Be who you want to be but don’t expect me to call you them or it or us. I drink coffee because it is a warm liquid and I accept the myth that it enlivens the brain though probably hot water from the tap would serve as well. My coffee habit is a cultural choice: I don’t want to be part of the tea crowd, it’d mean I’d have to have a ponytail and wear linen clothing and have a cockadoodle named Josephine. Singer and songwriter Stephanie Davis joins us, a fourth generation Montanan who moved to the Lone Star State; and literary mezzo-soprano Jennifer Rivera will sing her notable roles from The Barber of Seville and Mozart. Plus: The Royal Academy of Radio Actors, Tim Russell and Fred Newman, find Dusty and Lefty engaged in the tourist trade; music director and pianist Rich Dworsky guides the band (drummer Bernie Dresel, Larry Kohut on the bass, Richard Kriehn on the mandolin and fiddle, and guitarist Chris Siebold) through stomping opera bits and Gulf Coast melodies; and an update from the host on the latest news from a rapidly greening Lake Wobegon. Career highlights include Rosina in The Barber of Seville at Berlin Staatsoper, Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito at Teatro Regio di Torino, and Faramondo in Faramondo with Brisbane Baroque. A California native, she makes her home in New York. On her debut solo album, she featured several songs with lyrics by Garrison Keillor (music composed and arranged by Robert Aldridge), including several first heard on A Prairie Home Companion. | Boom Town: A Lake Wobegon Novel Boom Town: A Lake Wobegon Novel was released on April 11, 2022. It’s a return to Lake Wobegon where not all things have remained the same. It seems that the “little town that time forgot and decades could not improve” has indeed changed a bit. The author returns to town to deliver eulogies for four classmates and friends in this humorous comic tale that weaves in the backstories of how they each met and came to know one another. We have posted the first chapter on our website for your enjoyment.
