Hi, Today we celebrate a win for privacy and safety 🎉! These are our absolute favourite emails to send. Thousands of Mozilla activists signed our petition in May calling on Slack to offer basic safety features. And with your support, we brought your demands directly to Slack HQ with our partners at Fight for the Future. Thanks to you, Slack is taking an important step forward to protect people from harassment on its platform. The company announced it would soon introduce a feature that allows users to “hide messages from another member,” giving people the ability to protect themselves from harassment. It's not everything we asked for in our petition – we also want Slack to offer end-to-end encryption. Yet this is a significant milestone and worth celebrating as we work towards a full victory. Mozilla is a non-profit organisation, and one of our core priorities is to protect peoples' privacy and security on the Internet. Our community of supporters – like you! – help make all of our work possible. Can you contribute $25 to Mozilla and help advocate for a safe, secure internet that protects your privacy? Thanks for all you do for the Internet. With joy and gratitude, Reem Suleiman US Advocacy Lead Mozilla Foundation |
