Facebook IQ Sees Potential Staying Power for Pandemic-Induced Behavior Shifts

This year has been defined by the coronavirus and racial inequality. So many business decisions next year will be a response to these seismic shifts. Social media platforms play an undeniably large role in amplifying and dampening these conversations.

Facebook IQ’s Topics and Trends Report goes deeper looking at the types of conversations that gained momentum on the social network and how marketers can use that information to prepare.

From David Cohen’s piece:

“The team found that protests demanding racial equality took place in more than 2,000 cities and towns across all 50 states during the time period it analyzed, and people are turning to social media to share social justice slideshows meant to educate on systemic racism and allyship, as well as instructions for contacting elected officials to advocate for policies that will benefit their cities, towns and neighborhoods.”

It’s been an unforgettable year, for better or for worse. I hope you’re enjoying some down time.

Thanks for reading, until next time,
Lucinda
