The A27 is currently closed in both directions between theA23 (Patcham, Brighton) and the A2038 (Withdean). Sussex Police are leading the response to a single vehicle collision which has collided with the central reservation barrier. The road is expected to remain closed for some time.


Diversions are in place in both directions the guidance is as follows:

Eastbound is signed by the hollow diamond symbol:
Eastbound diverted traffic will exit the A27 at the Hangleton Interchange onto the A293 southbound towards the junction with the A270, where upon reaching this junction it will then turn east onto the A270 towards the junction with the A 2038. Traffic will enter A2038 north west bound and return to the A27 at the Devils Dyke junction.

Westbound is signed by the hollow triangle symbol:
Westbound diverted traffic will exit the A27 at the Devils Dyke interchange and exit west onto the A2083. It will then travel on the A283 to the junction with the A270 where it will turn west onto the A270 and travel on this until the junction with the A27 at Holmbush
