The A66 in North Yorkshire is closed westbound between the A1M (Scotch Corner) and A67 (near, Bowes), due to an overturned HGV.

Road users are advised to travel along the A1M, A67 to Barnard Castle to re-join the A66 at Bowes.

Please note, the A66 is closed eastbound between A6 (Penrith) and A1M and westbound between the A67 and A6 to high sided and vulnerable vehicles, due to the strong winds being experienced in the North Yorkshire and Cumbria regions.

High sided and vulnerable vehicles travelling across the Pennines, please consider using the A69.
