This year’s running of the Dubai World Cup promises to be the biggest yet with several records expected on the day. The $30.5 million horseracing event remains the richest in the world, with the highlight being the $12 million Dubai World Cup.

On the real estate front, Arabian Business took a closer look at Emaar’s upcoming master community, and here is all you need to know about The Oasis.

In addition, tenants in Dubai can easily calculate potential rent increases for the year before their contracts end, through an online service by the Dubai Land Department (DLD). The ‘Rental Index‘ feature allows customers to input basic details such as their tenancy agreement expiry date, number of rooms and current rent, to view the estimated rise and average rents in the area.

Aside from this, the UAE government has announced a one-week holiday for its public sector employees to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, the holiday marking the end of Ramadan. The UAE Cabinet approved the holidays from Monday, April 8 to Sunday, April 14.

Meanwhile, the UAE also announced that fuel prices for April will increase further. While the prices of gasoline and diesel have fluctuated over the last 12 months, they are presently not as high as they were during the same period last year
