A new digital platform in Dubai has been established to support businesses and investors setting up in the city. In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, issued Decree No. (13) of 2024 on the Unified Digital Platform for establishing companies in Dubai.

Aside from this, UAE residents enjoying Ramadan could be set for a  nine-day Eid Al Fitr holiday at the end of the Holy month. Ramadan started on Monday, March 11 after the crescent moon was sighted in the country. All months in the Islamic calendar have either 29 or 30 days, as dictated by moon sightings.

On the travel front, citizens of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the whole GCC are working towards visa-free travel to Europe and exemption from Schengen border rules, according to GCC secretary general Jasem Albudaiwi. The GCC official told television reporters he will travel to Brussels, Belgium next week to make a case for the visa waiver.

In the real estate sector, Abu Dhabi’s Aldar Properties announced on Wednesday the launch of Nouran Living, a boutique mid-rise residential address in Saadiyat Island’s Marina District, the latest residential and leisure destination that is being activated within the island’s masterplan.

Meanwhile, the Arabian Business Leadership Summit 2024 is set take place on Wednesday, May 22 at the Armani Hotel, Dubai. This gathering will bring together influential business leaders across the region, with tickets available for purchase here.
