Dubai announced Golden Visas for top teachers in UAE private schools. The scheme aims to recognise educators shaping Dubai's future through education.

In addition, the UAE launched 'Plant the Emirates' programme to boost farming, food security and local produce. The initiative, announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, will increase farms, expand organic food production and create agricultural jobs.

Aside from this, Dubai’s RTA reported AED3.705bn in digital revenues last year, a 16.8 percent increase from the previous year. Digital transactions reached 821m, up 1 percent from 2022.

In other news, weather forecasts predict heavy rain, thunder and lightning in the UAE from October, 6 to 9 2024. The National Centre of Meteorology cites low-pressure systems and cold air masses as causes.

Meanwhile, the UAE aviation sector marks growth with 10 airports, 4,800 weekly flights and 98m passengers in eight months. The industry aims to contribute £128bn to the economy. UAE Civil Aviation Day on October 5 commemorates the first aeroplane landing in Sharjah in 1932.
