AB Espresso: Dubai’s RTA unveils Rail Bus

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced plans to introduce a Rail Bus system, featuring 11.5-metre-long vehicles capable of carrying 40 passengers at speeds of up to 100 km/h. The new transport initiative will be showcased at the World Government Summit 2025.

Aside from this, Emirates has signed up for Airbus’ Skywise Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+) and Core X3 analytics platform to enhance aircraft dispatch reliability and improve strategic fleet management for its Airbus A380 and A350 aircraft. The programme will aid predictive maintenance and operational efficiency.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans for multiple large-scale projects aimed at diversifying the economy, creating jobs, and positioning the Kingdom as a global commercial and tourism hub. These developments, requiring billions in investment, are central to the country’s Vision 2030 strategy. Read the full list of upcoming megaprojects here.

In addition, Six Flags has been appointed as the official operator for Six Flags Qiddiya City and Aquarabia Water Theme Park in Saudi Arabia. The parks, set to open later this year, will benefit from Six Flags’ expertise in amusement park management and operational excellence.

In other news, Saudi Arabia’s Boutique Group’s ultra-luxury Red Palace hotel in Riyadh is more than 60% complete, with the project progressing ahead of schedule. The Public Investment Fund-backed development, set to open in April 2026, aims to set new hospitality standards with the highest staff-to-guest ratio in the sector.
