Check out the latest updates from Arabian Business, where our editorial team has compiled the region's developments from the weekend: Here's what you missed on Saturday and Sunday:

Work on Dubai’s Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project has now reached 45 percent completion on the first phase, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced. The AED 4.8 billion initiative aims to boost traffic flow and safety along a 13km stretch of critical roads in the emirate.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has emerged as a trailblazer in the UAE, spearheading the development of a clean and renewable energy sector. With a focus on sustainable development and environmental obligations, DEWA has implemented a series of techniques and projects aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.

On the real estate front, plans for the new mega-airport in Dubai South are expected to significantly boost real estate development across the area, according to a report by real estate agency Allsopp & Allsopp. Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport is anticipated to generate substantial demand for housing, commercial, and other real estate near the new airport. Multiple key developers are seen expanding operations to Dubai South to capture growth opportunities.

Food delivery service Deliveroo has announced food delivery by abra in Dubai. Building on its record of unique deliveries in the UAE, Deliveroo recently embarked on a journey back in time, paying homage to Dubai’s illustrious heritage with a one-off Abra delivery at the historic Dubai Creek.

In other news, construction will soon begin on a $3bn UAE to Oman rail network. The Hafeet Rail line will transport up to 400 passengers at a time from Abu Dhabi in the UAE to Sohar in Oman in 100 minutes, with top speeds of up to 200kmph. As well as transforming tourism between the two countries, business benefits will develop mining, iron and steel, agriculture and food, retail, e-commerce and petrochemical sectors.
