Abu Dhabi will cement its position as a major entertainment capital of the world with a season of A-list performances, shows and events in the coming months. Abu Dhabi Calendar has announced its events for the 2024-2025 season with highlights including major live music stars, top international sport and entertaining festivals. Highlights include, Coldplay’s Abu Dhabi return, the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024, a doubleheader of NBA Abu Dhabi Games presented by ADQ, an MMA spectacle with UFC 308: Topuria vs. Holloway, the debut of anime event Animenia and the return of Liwa Village, Liwa International Festival, and Al Hosn Festival, enriching the wide variety of experiences on offer.

In addition, the emirate has announced financial disclosure rules for listed companies in the emirate. The rules are designed to promote clarity and full disclosure around matters likely to have an impact on stock prices on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX). Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange said the listed companies are required to disclose the agenda and schedule of their Board of Directors meetings, where matters affecting the company’s stock price will be discussed, at least two business days prior to the specified meeting date.

On the real estate front, the Dubai property sector recorded more than AED13.36bn ($3.6bn) of transactions last week, according to data from the Land Department. Sales dominated the figures, with AED10.01bn ($2.7bn), according to Land Department data. In total there were 4,243 sales transactions recorded between September 16 and September 20.

In other news, shoppers eager to get their hands on the iPhone 16 in the UAE can get the hottest new mobile and more popular electronics delivered direct to their doorstep by Careem. Through Careem’s rapid electronics delivery service, Quik Electronics, shoppers can now order Apple’s latest tech lineup in under an hour, including the highly anticipated iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods 4, and more.

Aside from this, airports Council International (ACI) World has announced the release of its highly anticipated 2024 Annual World Airport Traffic Report, projecting 10 per cent growth for passenger traffic in 2024 to reach 9.5bn. Drawing data from over 2,700 airports across more than 180 countries and territories, the report offers the most comprehensive overview of the global airport industry and aviation markets for the operating year 2023 and the first half of 2024. It includes full rankings for passenger, cargo, and aircraft traffic.
