The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract for the Al Fay Street Development Project worth AED 1.5 billion. The project supports directives from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai to enhance Dubai’s road infrastructure and accommodate urban and population growth. The initiative is being followed up by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.

On the real estate front, the Dubai Land Department (DLD) has launched a freehold ownership conversion initiative for private property owners in Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Jaddaf. A total of 457 plots, including 128 on Sheikh Zayed Road and 329 in Al Jaddaf, are eligible for conversion. This move aims to boost market value for landowners and attract investments in these areas.

In other major news, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has approved the 2024 results of the Dubai Government Customer and Employee Happiness Indices. The average customer happiness rating was 93.8 percent, while employee happiness was 86.7 percent. The Mystery Shopper survey scored government entities at 95.8 percent, according to the Dubai Government Excellence Programme's annual report.

Meanwhile, the pre-owned car market in the UAE remained active in 2024, reflecting evolving consumer preferences. With more than 100 car brands and 300,000 listings, dubizzle has established itself as a significant player in the market, offering a range of vehicles and catering to various customer needs.

Aside from this, the UAE Cyber Security Council reported that national cybersecurity systems successfully blocked ransomware attacks targeting strategic sectors in both public and private entities. The attacks aimed to breach data and disrupt digital systems.
