Take a look at the most recent news from Arabian Business, where our team of editors has gathered the notable advancements in the region from Wednesday. Here's what you missed:

The UAE has announced the end of the heavy rains that have caused major disruption across the country. The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, the National Centre of Meteorology, and strategic partners, has announced the end of the weather fluctuations, with rainfall stopping and weather conditions gradually improving.

Yet, the Dubai Government has announced an extension to work-from-home rules as it continues to recover from heavy rainfall in the UAE. The instruction for public sector workers means entities will remain closed on Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19. It does not apply to workers required for on-site duties.

On the real estate front, Dubai-based Shariah-compliant real estate investment trust Emirates REIT reported its highest-ever property income and strong growth in assets for the 2023 fiscal year, according to a statement. The REIT’s total property income increased 10 percent year-on-year to $74 million in 2023, representing its highest revenue to date. On a like-for-like basis, excluding divested assets, the growth was 13 percent.

In other news, the Arabian Business Leadership Summit 2024 will be held on May 22 at the Armani Hotel in Dubai. Speaking to Arabian Business, Eddy Tannous, the COO at Rotana Hotel Management Corporation PJSC, said he is “looking forward to connecting with top executives, industry experts, and thought leaders who have impacted the Arabian Business landscape.”
