On the transport front, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract for the Oud Metha and Al Asayel Streets Development Project, part of the larger Sheikh Rashid Corridor Development Project. The initiative, directed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai and followed up by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, aims to enhance Dubai’s infrastructure in response to urban growth and population expansion. The development will serve areas including Zabeel, Al Jaddaf, Oud Metha, Umm Hurair, Latifa Hospital, and Al Wasl Club. By 2030, it is projected to cater to over 420,000 people.

Meanwhile, Union Properties has officially launched its new $544m Takaya project in Dubai Motor City. Takaya sets a new standard in the mid-to-high range segment, promising exceptional living experiences for its residents. The launching ceremony was held at the Ritz Carlton DIFC, in the presence of Eng. Amer Khansaheb, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member, Union Properties. During the ceremony, Eng. Khansaheb highlighted how the project demonstrates the Company’s steadfast dedication to advancing Dubai’s Real Estate sector.

Aside from this, J1 Beach is set to open in Dubai this week, according to Merex Investment. The eagerly awaited leisure development has been dubbed an “urban riviera in Jumeirah” and will include 13 licensed venues, including internationally acclaimed restaurants. First to arrive will be Gigi Rigolatto, which opens its doors on October 14.

In other news, GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest technology exhibition, is set to open in Dubai on October 14, as well. The Dubai Government will participate with a joint pavilion featuring over 45 government and private sector entities, organised by Digital Dubai.
