Voting is now underway in the closely contested US presidential election. Current polling shows the candidates are nearly tied, with the first results expected from Indiana and Kentucky around 3 AM UAE time. The first crucial swing state, Georgia, will report around 4:20 AM. Arabian Business will begin live coverage from 4 AM UAE time, updating projections throughout the results.

And as Donald Trump and Kamala Harris compete for the presidency, the global investment community is preparing for potential changes in fiscal policies, trade, and international relations. In the UAE, the National Investment Strategy 2031 has been unveiled, setting an ambitious goal to triple the country’s cumulative FDI balance to AED 2.2 trillion ($599 billion) by 2031. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in the presence of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, presented the strategy at the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024 in Abu Dhabi, which bring together over 500 officials, private sector leaders, and community representatives.

Meanwhile, retail leader noon is preparing for a surge in shopping demand with two major promotions in November: the 11.11 (Singles Day) Sale on November 7 and the Yellow Friday Sale later in the month. noon’s hyperlocal services, like noon Minutes and supermall, offer customers fast access to products across categories, with deliveries in 15 to 45 minutes, expanding partner reach and customer engagement.

Additionally, a new report by global advertising firm Dentsu, in collaboration with consumer research company GWI, highlights the gaming industry’s rapid growth, which has now surpassed the music and film industries combined. The “2024: State of Gaming Report” points to the MENA region—especially Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt—as a key growth market for companies to watch.
