Question of the Week

What are your 'law school don'ts'?

The start of the school year is around the corner, and this week, Ms. JD shared on its Facebook page a post from 2008 in which law school students told readers their "law school don'ts."

Among them:

"Thinking about getting a pet? Don't do it! You will live in the law school your first year, moving only between your classes, the library, and your bed."

"Don't miss class! This is not like undergrad, where you could easily make up whatever you missed."

"Don't take yourself and law school too seriously. If you take it too seriously, you'll just end up with white hairs, less hair on your head, permanent heartburn from all the cups of coffee, and higher annual eye prescriptions."

So this week we'd like to ask you--whether you're currently in law school or far beyond it--what law school don'ts would you share with someone just about to start their first year?

Answer in the comments.

Read the answers to last week's question: Should bar exam pass scores be lower?

Featured answer:

Posted by Random Goof: "I think the California test in particular is a distorted example because there are applicants there who did not attend an ABA-accredited school, but those numbers are not broken out separately. If you want to see a true quagmire, take a look at neighboring Nevada's pass rates. That is a tough exam."
