Plus quick and easy chorizo and feta penne pasta
| It has been the most wonderful week at 720 ABC Radio Perth, as we bask in the glory of our centenary celebrations. Thank you so much for tuning in and sharing your beloved memories of 6WF, which first broadcast to Western Australians on 4 June, 1924. From John Juan to George Manning, Eoin Cameron and Russell Woolf, it’s clear that you hold our previous Breakfast presenters in such high regard and it’s an honour for me to step behind the mic and follow in their footsteps. I’ve also been spending some time with our friends at WASO this week. Ahead of their performances of ‘Last Night of the Proms’ this weekend, WASO invited me down to act as a conductor at one of their rehearsals. It’s fair to say I’ve got a lot of improving to do. Thankfully, the musicians are in fine form. Keep an eye out for rehearsal videos on ABC Perth’s social media pages and please get along to see this brilliant orchestra perform live if you can. There’s one more way you can take part in our 100th birthday celebrations. We’re conducting Open House tours of the ABC studios in East Perth tomorrow, the 8th of June. Make sure you register for the free tours here . I’ll be playing tour guide from 9am and I’d love to see you then. Again, thanks so much for your support at this very special time for 6WF, ABC Radio Perth. I look forward to chatting to you each weekday from 5am. Mark. | | |
