 | | Make up for some lost movie time | Sure, 2020 has given us plenty of time to watch television but you know what we’ve really missed? The full-on cinema experience. So where better to make up for lost time than the home of the movie premiere, Leicester Square?
It’s not just about catching the latest blockbusters. Thanks to the ‘Scenes In The Square’ audio walking tour, you can really immerse yourself in cinema lore and legend, courtesy of stars from the silver screen that include Batman, Wonder Woman, Mary Poppins and Bugs Bunny.
This film-themed statue trail is completely free (all you need is your phone!), socially distanced and full of movie clips, trivia, interviews and fascinating little tidbits. Plus it’s narrated by Alex Zane, and quite frankly we can’t think of many better companions for a stroll around this part of town.
And while you’re there you might as well take in some of the area’s other great venues. From puzzle solving at the Crystal Maze to top-class Indian food at Farzi Cafe or the Gauguin exhibition at the Royal Academy just down the road, it’s all going on down Leicester Square way. See you there? | | |
