Kim Nehrbass drove all the way from Lafayette to check on his camp in Pecan Island in Vermilion Parish on Monday as Tropical Storm Francine heads toward southwest Louisiana. Mosquitos swarmed while he put on his boots to wade through the last week's waters, which have overtaken his downstairs shed.
