Don't Miss the Digital Edition of Library Journal's June Issue!

What You'll Find Inside:

Seattle Public Library Is the Gale/LJ Library of the Year
An extensive community consultation process and a deep cultural commitment to equity drive the transformation that garnered SPL top honors.

Distance Learning
Academic, school, and public libraries and librarians alike were all challenged to support the sudden shift to remote learning driven by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the school year draws to a close and uncertainty surrounds the fall, the three surveys comprised in “Vital and Visible” and “Supporting K–12 Learners” report what librarians have done so far and the lessons they’ll bring to future planning.

Mapping the Ecosystem
On literacy, libraries don’t have to go it alone. Everything from governmental agencies to nonprofits to corporations have dedicated resources to promoting reading. That complex landscape means a wealth of opportunities for partnership.

Collection Development
’20s Fiction and Nonfiction. These 39 titles include events that mirror our own times, and perhaps provide some warnings.
