ACDIS 2019 Conference Speaker Application Period Extended!

Great news for those wishing they had more time to submit an application to speak at our
12th annual conference! The deadline for submissions has been extended to September 10.

The 2019 event takes place May 20-23, 2019, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Like last year, the ACDIS conference will feature six tracks. To read this year’s session and track suggestions, click here.

While the application process remains similar to previous years, this year’s application requests a draft presentation and an option to upload a MP3/4 recording of yourself to highlight your presentation style. Please note, the draft is just a draft and successful applicants will have additional time to create a comprehensive presentation. Additional details regarding the
2019 Conference Committee and the application process were provided during ACDIS Radio on August 1.

The committee will assess applications based on a number of criteria, including:

  • Clarity

  • Creativity

  • Speaker credentials/experience (e.g., having provided presentation on the national or local stage either at ACDIS or other event; having provided education for physicians, coders, or other allied professionals; having varied and various professional experience which offers insight into a new avenue of CDI opportunities)

  • Program level (i.e., ACDIS seeks a balanced representation of beginning, intermediate, and advanced sessions to meet all experience levels)

  • Compliance in adherence to coding, regulatory, clinical, and query best practices

  • Inclusion (noted anticipation of inclusion) of supportive materials (e.g., take home items such as sample policies, queries, education tools and/or illustrative charts/data)

  • Audience engagement (e.g., polling, show-of-hands, unique features)

ACDIS believes in the adage that a rising tide lifts all boats. As such our annual conference represents an opportunity for those working in the clinical documentation improvement community to come together, share their experiences, and offer each other insight gleaned from often hard-won program efforts. We are excited to learn and grow from your experiences!
