Need a resource for the Common Program Requirements?

In light of today’s announcement from the ACGME regarding the revised Common Program requirements, is there a need for a one-stop resource? As we mentioned last week, HCPro is considering producing an easy-to-navigate manual about the Common Program Requirements to help you maintain training standards for resident and fellow physicians. ACGME lifts 16-hour shift cap for first-year residents

The ACGME released revised Common Program Requirements that will allow first-year residents to work longer shifts beginning in July. The revised standards lifts a cap established in 2011 that limited first-year residents to 16-hour shifts.

Planning resident orientation

After the new resident class has been determined by the Match process, the program director must plan for new resident orientation. New residents will have an orientation at the institutional level and the program level. The program director, with the assistance of the program coordinator, is responsible for the orientation at the program level.
