Hi, Do

Oh goodness is the harvest ever happening now! Tomatoes turning red, Zucchini on my kitchen counter, pickling cucumbers filling jars. And the green beans? We are done! What is left will be allowed to dry on the vine for seed.

And fall is in the air! Apple and Peach butter are cooking in crock pots on my counter as I type this out. Smells heavenly... can you smell it?

If you have a vegetable garden, chances are pretty good that you are starting to drown a little in all you are harvesting. That is my hope for you, anyway! If not hit those local farmers markets. The gardeners there are drowning and would love to serve you.

Work ahead to make sure things are ready for the next round of canning and you have all supplies ready to go. A full day of canning is made easier by having all you need at hand.

Still praying for rain here in Colorado!

Tomatoes

Canning tomatoes can be done in both a pressure canner and a water bath canner. Do you love tomatoes fresh from the garden? Me too! I also love canning tomatoes to use in salsa, soups and spaghetti sauce.
