Call for papers and 2022 essay prize

We are excited to share Wasafiri magazine's call for submissions for the 2022 Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize. International in scope, the prize supports writers who have not yet published a book-length work, with no limits on age, gender, nationality, or background. Winners of each category will receive a £1,000 cash prize and publication and be published in Wasafiri’s print magazine.

What are makerspaces and business incubators?

Congratulations to Stephanie Tudtud, our Connections Through Culture grantee! She has recently shared her research on an implementation framework for makerspaces and creative business incubators at the University of San Carlos Research Conference. The Economic Development Committee of Central Visayas is adopting her framework, to be used by public and private stakeholders in the region.

How to grow ecologically and economically?

Learn how our Woven Networks Scoping Grants recipient Dr Eric Zerrudo of the University of Santo Tomas is helping to conserve forests. He is working with artisans from Leyte and Prof Alice Kettle, Rachel Kelly and Dr Stephens from the Manchester School of Arts to advance the creativity and adaptability to climate change.
