DebMed Offers a range
of Triclosan-Free Soaps for Healthcare | Hello Valued Customer,
On December 19, 2017, the U.S. FDA issued the long expected final rule for "Safety and Effectiveness of Healthcare Antiseptics; Topical Antimicrobial Drug Products for Over-the-Counter Human Use" in the Federal Register. In this rule, FDA determined that Triclosan must be phased out of OTC handwash products for healthcare applications1. Due to this ruling, manufacturers will have to stop manufacturing and shipping products containing Triclosan to the healthcare market by December 20, 2018. This will result in healthcare facilities to change any current Triclosan based soap to an alternative.
In anticipation of the FDA making such a ruling on Triclosan, DebMed developed several new antimicrobial and routine soaps to replace Triclosan soaps.
