Long Beach City College Allegedly Violated Minimum Wage LawsLong Beach, CA A proposed California labor class action lawsuit filed by part-time instructors at Long Beach City College claims the district violated minimum wage laws by not paying them all hours worked. Part-time instructors are often paid for the hours they spend in front of students and are not compensated for out-of-classroom work such as preparing lectures, grading and communicating with students, unlike their full-time counterparts.
Medical Device Suppliers Hit Philips Respironics with Class ActionGlenside, PA Philips is hit again with a class action lawsuit, but this time medical device makers join thousands of consumers who filed complaints over the defective sleep apnea machines alleged to cause cancers and respiratory injuries. Baird Respiratory Therapy, Inc., filed in March 2022 a class action lawsuit against Philips in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, seeking to represent durable medical equipment (DME) suppliers nationwide who purchased Philips’ recalled breathing machines.
