De-escalation Training for Libraries

This session will give a de-escalation training on how to diffuse tense situations and prevent security incidents from escalating. This session will cover the importance of de-escalation in keeping staff and patrons safe and will use real-life examples from library settings to cater this training to the experiences of library employees.

Who should take this course: Any librarian or educator who faces safety risks, high tension, or conflict in the workplace. This course will be particularly good for frontline workers and those who come into the most contact with disgruntled patrons or students.
