Advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Public Libraries Tuesday, March 24, 2020 2-3 PM ET, 11 AM-12 PM PT
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) is a crucial principle in the public library space. More and more, libraries of all sizes are beginning to adopt a passionate approach to supporting their community through the lens of EDI. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, this initiative incorporates nearly all facets of library services, from mission statements and strategies to staffing and collection development.
In this Library Journal webcast, three thought leaders:
- Discuss the difference between equality and equity.
- Relate the importance of EDI in libraries.
- Tie in an assessment of the library while taking EDI into account.
- Share examples from small, medium, and large libraries that are tackling EDI. .
