AFL gets 12 patents for technology

Spartanburg-based AFL has received 12 patents over the last quarter for technology and product development in fiber optic cabling, fusion splicing, test equipment and connectivity, according to a news release.

MKSK becomes an employee-owned company

MKSK Inc. has become an employee-owned company through the creation of a new employee stock ownership plan, or ESOP. The company has about 100 employees in seven studios around the country, including seven people at its Greenville location.

Hotel part of larger plan for downtown Anderson

The announcement in September that construction had started on a Home2 Suites by Hilton in downtown Anderson is part of a larger plan for development in that area, according to David McCuen, Anderson city manager, who said the hotel project was three years in the making.
