| | | Polk County Iowa, Iowa's "garden spot." Just finished the last of my beans in a 2" snowfall last night. Yields as expected - about 15% off last years 60 bu/A. About 70-75% of this areas beans are out and what remain, looks pretty tough with lots of heavy week growth. Not started on corn as yet because moisture levels have been in the low 20's. Maybe, maybe 10% of this areas corn is combined. Lots of deep ruts on the better ground with ponding everywhere. Another 2" snow expected Thursday and Friday. Where's the sun shine and wind when you need it! | |
