As with anything new, implementing AI technologies can have pain points. It can cost millions to implement and take years to upload data in order to train the technology to give a reliable output specific to financial planning. 

That's one reason even a Tesla-driving, AI-visionary like Brian McLaughlin warns advisors against jumping into AI too quickly. 

"The hallucinations are what's scary," the president of Orion Advisor Technology said in a recent chat with Financial Planning. "There'll be a bad recommendation, or a poor choice or decision made in the use of AI, and that's something I actually don't think advisors should get on board with yet because it's just too early."
