There was once a time when organizations wanted to get a head in the AI game by any means. But as the shotgun approach yielded high failure rates, low ROI, and a lot of raised eyebrows in the boardroom, that era is increasingly in the rearview mirror. Now, as the tech matures and IT leaders take stock, they’re seeing that the best way forward is to take a more targeted approach rather than lunge for everything within reach.
“We’re seeing a marked shift from high-volume experimentation to more focused, outcome-driven AI deployment,” says Bhrugu Pange, MD for AI, digital, and technology solutions at AArete. “Instead of launching dozens of proofs of concept in parallel, organizations are prioritizing a few use cases where AI can be embedded deeply into operational workflows and drive measurable results.”
Even though CIOs need to balance costs and better governance with speed and C-suite pressure to adopt AI, current trends suggest that less is more when it comes to POCs. Read more detail about it in Grant Gross’ lead story today, and how the Wild West of AI experimentation is being tamed.
