The word ‘disruption’ gets bandied around a lot these days, but it’s a term that certainly encompasses AI, if sometimes used in a scattershot way. Still, we’re being forced to rewrite the script on how we approach, or are approached by, vendors elbows deep in finding ways to give their product portfolios the AI turbo boost required to stay competitive. In today’s top story, Neal Weinberg details the frontrunner ERP vendors in this market upheaval, and the ways they’re impatiently harnessing AI to help customers scale, innovate, and streamline. “We’ve moved past the experimental phase into practical use, where AI will manage entire workflows within ERP and supply chain systems,” says Robert Kramer, analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy. And IDC adds that the AI boost in business processes is ushering in an era of increasing enterprise optimization and efficiency. Due diligence by the end user, however, always has to keep things in check.
