Ever wondered what it would look like if fintech CEOs and future-focused advisors were to gather on a beach to watch a hip hop icon perform while surrounded by seemingly endless free food and alcohol?

Thankfully, Future Proof 2022 answered that question for us. And what followed was, well, charmingly awkward. Check out a full breakdown of the California culture clash here, including a few embarrassing clips of myself and Financial Planning Chief Correspondent Tobias Salinger in action at the world's first wealth management festival..

Before and after rap legend Big Boi rocked the beach, fintech newsmakers spent the past week talking about what's new and relevant to advisors. Get caught up with the latest on F2 Strategy's new executives-in-residence program, a fresh AI offering from Truist and another big backer for Lumiant.

And speaking of Lumiant, the Australian-based fintech's U.S. CEO Blake Wood stopped by for an at-times emotional episode of the Financial Planning podcast in which he explained how the death of the father who motivated him to get into financial services — and the impact that passing had on Wood's mother — drove him to join the startup after 17 years with Envestnet.

Regards,
Justin
