| 📺 Minnesota public TV station leads fight against Trump executive order to defund public media. Lakeland PBS in Bemidji has joined the national PBS organization in challenging President Donald Trump’s executive order calling for an end to government support for both PBS and NPR. 🛶 Canadian wildfires aren’t keeping BWCA visitors home — yet. Smoke from wildfires in Canada traveled into Minnesota in recent days, triggering an air quality advisory that continues until Monday evening. But in Ely, families who booked their trips to the BWCA months in advance are continuing with their plans. 🧑🏻🌾 NW Minnesota farmer stays grounded with plans to help a new generation of growers. He’s been a successful farmer for 44 years, but rather than cash out to a corporate interest, Tim Dufault decided to give six young farmers access to his land in Polk County. He hopes to cultivate a new generation of farmers. 💨 Air quality alert continues through Monday evening, higher concern for northern Minnesota. An air quality alert is in effect for almost all of Minnesota. The alert is expected to last until 6 p.m. Monday. 📢 Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz energizes Democrats in South Carolina and California. Walz hasn't officially said if he'll seek a third term in 2026, but acknowledges he's thinking about it. He's given mixed signals on a 2028 presidential run while keeping up his attacks on Trump. 👮🏽 Minneapolis marks one year since the death of officer Jamal Mitchell. It has been one year since officer Jamal Mitchell was killed while responding to a chaotic shooting in Minneapolis’ Whittier neighborhood. The department held a private ceremony Friday and is planning a public event in honor of Michell for June 14. 🏀 Collier scores 24 points, Lynx use big 2nd-half run to beat Valkyries 86-75. Napheesa Collier had 24 points and 11 rebounds, Courtney Williams added 20 points, five rebounds and five assists and the Minnesota Lynx beat the expansion Golden State Valkyries 86-75 on Sunday night. |
