๐ด Greetings! I hope you are having a relaxing weekend. I apologize for sending this so late but we were up early to go to church and then to take part in the Skechers Pier-to-Pier Friendship Walk as guests of Turkish Airlines. They picked the perfect day since the weather in L.A. is outstanding. Sunny, 72F and no wind. We then ended up on the beach with some friends, which made it feel like summer. It was another busy week in the travel industry so I'm including the top 12 stories of the week as well as all of the others and a whole slew of travel tips. Be sure to scroll down to see it all. |

๐งณ Monday Airline Lost Your Luggage? Do This If You Want to Get Compensated If you ask any frequent flier their best travel tip, the majority will answer with, "Donโt check bags." This way, you donโt have to show up to the airport extra early to check it, wait around for what seems like an eternity at the baggage carrousel upon arrival, worry about it getting lost or having items stolen. A carry-on bag will also save you money on baggage fees, allow you to take public transportation more easily and get on a different flight if your original one is delayed or canceled. However, not many people can travel without checking a bag. I'm one of them when I'm with my family (photo above). And the more bags you check, the greater the chances the airline will lose at least one of them. Here's what to do if this happens and how to get compensated by the airline. |

Here's what you need to know. |

๐ต Friday 10 Sneaky Travel Junk Fees and How to Avoid Them I think all travelers can agree on one thing: We hate being nickeled and dimed for every little thing and worst of all, feeling like weโre being tricked. One of the most frustrating experiences for a traveler is showing up to the airport only to learn youโre going to have to pay upwards of $100 for a CARRY-ON bag (ahem, Frontier Airlines and some other low-fare carriers). Or checking out of a hotel, only to learn you have to pay a ridiculous resort fee for amenities you didnโt even use, like the gym or the pool. Here are 10 sneaky travel junk fees and how to avoid them. |
