WEB-FIRST REVIEWS OF BOOKS AND MEDIA

Somebody's DaughterSomebody’s Daughter, by David Bell, is one of four starred fiction titles this week. "Bell (Bring Her Home) escorts readers on a ride-along through 12 adrenalin-charged hours as his characters track multiple leads in the search for a missing child.... Suspense enthusiasts will find themselves feverishly glued to this heart-poundingly addictive thriller until the final page." In nonfiction, "gardeners, historians, and photographers will all appreciate [the] gorgeous and informative" Seeking Eden: A Collection of Georgia’s Historic Gardens, written by Staci L. Catron and Mary Ann Eaddy, with photos by James R. Lockhart. Jules Feiffer's The Ghost Script: A Graphic Novel is one of two starred graphic novels this week. "This satire about political and sociosexual doublespeak is not just a great read but an assault on the fake news still roiling around us today. Libraries with the first two volumes will want this, as will Feiffer’s many fans and aficionados of thrillers and political drama." And Nicole McLaughlin's e-original Only with You, book four in the "Man Enough" series, "takes on a tough topic—healing from sexual abuse—while also establishing genuinely tender intimacy between her protagonists. Readers will be curious for more in this series."
