Cover of Christine Montross's Waiting for an Echo: The Madness of American Incarceration. Silhouette of a man hunched over in a prison cell Me and Sister Bobbie: True Tales of the Family Band, by Willie Nelson and others, is one of this week's starred performing arts titles. Alyssa Cole's mystery, When No One Is Watching, is a "sizzling summer thriller [that] starts on low and heats up fast. Smart, sexy, and surprising, this suspenseful novel revealing the underbelly of urban gentrification will keep readers reading late into the night." In law and crime, Christine Montross's starred title Waiting for an Echo: The Madness of American Incarceration is "a must-read that asks us to consider who our system is leaving behind." And in nonfiction, starred selection What’s Wrong with Economics? A Primer for the Perplexed, by Robert Skidelsky, is "an excellent overview of the field and a good starting point for students of economics. Highly recommended reading."
